Amid escalating border tensions with the Soviet Bear, Ukraine has legalised Crypto! Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoins and Ethereum are now legal tender in the country. According to an official statement the parliament of Ukraine passed the new law on virtual digital assets with a resounding 270+ votes.
Mikhailo Fedorov the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation, excitedly announced the move on twitter
Ukraine is already in top-5 countries on cryptocurrency usage. Today we made one more step forward: Parliament adopted law on virtual assets! This will legalize crypto exchangers and cryptocurrencies, and Ukrainians could protect their assets from possible abuse or fraud.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine was established on 29th August 2019 headed by Fedorov. Some of the ministry’s objectives to achieve by 2024 are
- Make all public services digital
- Leverage business and infrastructure by boosting electronic communication speed
- Reach 6 million Ukrainians with digital skills etc.
