Avalanche (ticker symbol: AVAX) is plowing ahead to its summit on March 22nd. The smart contract protocol is up over 30% in the last 7 days, currently trading in the $87.90 range.
Overall, AVAX has held up well during the crypto market downturn. After reaching its all-time high of $130 USD, AVAX finds itself now in the $80 range.
Outside of the upcoming summit, Avalanche has a few other price drivers. The recent integration of the Terra-based Anchor Protocol saw an influx of TVL into the popular DeFi platform. Not to mention, Harmony-based GameFi project DeFi Kingdoms is set to get integrated with Avalanche on March 30th.
Recent integrations of popular projects is demonstrating the interoperability mission of Avalanche. Although the protocol says that it’s the “fastest smart contracts platform in the blockchain industry, as measured by time-to-finality” it is also a leader in interoperability alongside its peers like Cosmos and Polkadot.

Avalanche Summit
Avalanche Summit begins March 22 and goes through till the 27th. This year’s event is in Barcelona, Spain.
Similar to ETHDenver, it features a mix of speaking events and hackathons. Some of the events include a DeFi Kingdoms picnic, a talk about crypto in El Salvador, and speakers like Sergey Nazarov and Meltem Demirors.
Back in December, Polygon hosted a summit. They famously hyped up the event by teasing a major announcement — which ended being the acquisition of MIR. Avalanche isn’t teasing anything similar during its event.
However, Do Kwon is teasing something that will make Avalanche moon this week…
